Extra Curricular Clubs

We will be running lots of clubs throughout school over the year. Some of these may be at lunch times and some after school. We aim to encourage our pupils to try lots of new activities and adventures, both sporting and creative. Life is for living!

Look out in the newsletter and parent notice board for information and details.

Some of our clubs

Homework Club

Homework Club takes place on Mondays from 3.10 – 4.30pm and is open to children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6. The idea of the club is to give children the opportunity to complete homework in a quiet and supportive environment. Three members of staff run homework club and support children if they are unsure of any of their homework tasks.

Children are expected to bring their homework each week and we do ask that parents/carers let us know if children are not attending, so that we know they have been collected from school.

Refreshments are served during homework club.

At the beginning of each school year, we send out a letter about homework club with a tear off section to complete, if your child would like to attend. During the year, if your child would like to start attending homework club, please ask at the office if there are any spare places and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Dance Club

Dance club takes place every Tuesday and is open to any child in Key Stage 2. We currently have 14 children in the club who are from Year 3,4,5 and 6. This year, our dance club is learning the Cha-Cha. Children will be learning the different steps and then using these, we will be learning a routine which will be performed at Christmas Around the Tree. Later in the year, children will be learning a routine which they will have an opportunity to perform at ” The Musical Extravaganza” at Wingfield

Here’s what some of the children who attend have said:

“I like dance club because it challenges me. I’m learning a new genre of dance and it’s nice to learn something new.” Ellie C.

“I like dance club because I feel like I can explress myself and enjoy dancing with my friends.” Holly W.
